Arulmigu Adhikeshava Perumal Temple @ Thiruvattaru, is one of the 108 Vaishnava Divya Desams and is 2nd in sequence of 13 Malai Nattu Divya Desams. Mangalasasanam was done by Nammalwar. The statue of Periya Perumal is made of 16008 shalagramas. Perumal is in Kidantha Kolam here (22 feet) and is perhaps the biggest Palli Konda Perumal in the world. The Temple is large and spans well over 3 acres. Temple architecture is a fusion of Kerala/TamilNadu temple styles. Such a magnificant temple has not seen a consecration ceremony (Kumbhabishekam) in the past 400 years, which is unfortunate. The renovation work was started 5 years back and currently work is going on in full swing. The total project cost for renovating the temple is 6 Crores out of which the Renovation Temple has collected 4.5 Crores. The Kumbhabhishekam is scheduled for some time in 2011 and immediate funds are required to meet that date. There is a separate sannidhi for Lord Venugopala and ISKCON has taken up the renovation work for that.

This is a humble plea to all Hindus reading this article to contribute generously towards this noble endeavour.
